What’s in a Content Package? (Featuring DevReady.io)

Ok, so you’re ready to publish some content to build authority, educate your customers, and drive conversions… but where do you start? What does that look like?

At Blue Griffin, we’re all about creating intentional, meaningful content that drives real marketing results.

While each piece of content is unique, we’ve got a consistent process and deliverables designed to make life easy and (once again) to get results!

Here’s a little peek behind the scenes featuring some recent content created for DevReady.io, a new alternative to staffing created by IT leaders for IT leaders.

Content Strategy

As you may have guessed, everything begins with onboarding and a thorough discovery session with your team. We establish a preliminary understanding of:

  • Your objectives
  • Your audience
  • Your brand messaging
  • What content and assets we have to work with
  • Your content themes, schedule, and formats
  • KPIs we’ll use to measure success

After that, it’s tempting to start writing right away, but we spend due time researching and validating all those things we discussed during discovery. That’s one benefit of bringing in external support.

Original Content Capture

Your content brief features plans for content capture. That includes collecting any internal files and information, external references, and interviews with real-life subject matter experts.

People-based content has always been our M.O., but it now matters more than ever! We’re all tired of AI-generated content that…

Says a lot.

Without saying much at all.

You get where I’m going with this? Creating authentic, engaging, useful content means talking to real people, capturing their voice and personality.

Often, we’re writing about things that have yet to be published anywhere online, and everything is tied back to real people with proven expertise. That’s good for search engines and readers.

And of course, talking shop with technical experts is where we really shine. We do our pre-work, we ask the right questions, and we host engaging interviews designed to get real, quote-worthy, engaging content straight from the source.

“Lucas and his team are very intuitive about technical matters, and they do and excellent job of putting together information that is understandable while maintaining its technical accuracy.” – Barry Newton, Ph.D., PE, WHA International

Authentic Content Creation

Once we’ve got our source materials and interview transcripts, we check everything against our original content briefs. (Sometimes, those conversations reveal new ideas or a slight shift in direction.)

Then we get to work drafting our “core content.” That’s typically a long-form blog article or case study that seeds everything else down the line.

Again, that’s right in our Blue Griffin wheelhouse — creating authentic content that takes complex technical subject matter and turns it into engaging, effective content marketing materials that drive results.

Final Deliverables

Following a round or two of revisions (it never takes us long), we expand upon that core content to create supporting materials like:

  • Downloadable/printable pdf documents
  • Email marketing campaigns
  • Social media posts
  • and more!

Each piece is intentionally designed to support our established objectives, often referring back to the core content or other calls to action (CTAs) on your website.

That comes together to create your “content package” with all the docs, files, and assets needed to execute your campaign.

Content Execution

And speaking of execution… some clients are equipped to publish the content on their own, while others look to us for content execution.

We’ll use a variety of email and social media scheduling platforms (either yours or ours) to get your content out into the world.

And because everything we do is designed to get results, we track and monitor your campaign to compare it against our original objectives. All those KPIs are documented in a final scorecard to measure success and help optimize future content.

Your content strategy comes together in a content brief. This document formally captures everything and gives the team a chance to review and get aligned before we start creating something that’s not quite right.

“Love what you’ve done here. I’ve gone through this exercise several times with other companies, and I end up thinking ‘I just don’t know what to do with this’ … You’ve provided us with some really solid actionable insights.” – Sarah Strause, Senior Marketing Director, Creator IQ
